Half-staff Notice – Peace Officers Memorial Day

The President of the United States issued a proclamation declaring May 15, 2026, as Peace Officers Memorial Day and urging all Governors of the States and Territories to fly the flag of the United States at half-staff in observance of Peace Officers Memorial Day.

Accordingly, the Governor directed that the flags atop the State Capitol be flown at half-staff from sunrise until sunset on Friday, May 15, 2026, to honor those federal, state, and local officers killed or disabled in the line of duty and their service, bravery, and sacrifice. The Governor requested that the flags over state buildings and buildings of the political subdivisions of this State similarly be flown at half-staff for this purpose.
