Vera Ann Mason Foster

Laurens, South Carolina

Vera Ann Mason Foster, 87, of Laurens and wife of the late Billy Foster, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at her home.

Born in Walhalla, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Willie Mae Williams Mason. Vera was a faithful member of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church.  She retired from 3M and embarked on a new journey by founding her own catering business, Our Daily Bread Catering. She was especially known for her signature dish, Vera’s Famous Chicken Pot Pie. She also spent many years running the lunchroom at Laurens Academy, where she touched the lives of many students and faculty with her warmth and generosity.

She is survived by her children, Gary Foster (Gina) and Scotty Foster (Lisa); grandchildren, Jade McCall (David), Caleb Foster, and Joshua Self; great grandchild, Austin McCall; brothers, Dennis Mason and Carl Mason (Carol); and a very special caregiver, Tammy Walker.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Mason and a grandson, John Self.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, February 16, 2026, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Alex D. Henderson with a private burial in Westview Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the mortuary one hour prior to the service.

The family will be at their respective homes.
