Rock-n- Roll with Material Girl this week for Clinton’s 3rd Thursday

Music lovers can get a dose of rock and roll this Thursday night , Oct. 16, with Atlanta-based band – Material Girl – at The Depot in Clinton, as Main Street Clinton is hosting the final 3rd Thursday Music of the season.

“They are not a Madonna tribute band, but they are a female fronted band from Atlanta,” said Main Street Clinton Director Jim Spry. “They are very high energy and do rock and pop from the 80s and beyond.”

Like other 3rd Thursday evenings, Spry said it’s a great opportunity to support local businesses and restaurants downtown prior to the concert, then set up for the show and dance in the grassy area before The Depot.

Restaurants and shops will be open  later than usual then at 7 p.m. the concert starts at The Depot, Spry said.

Main Street Clinton has hosted several Altanta-based bands this season. Later this fall, Scots and Brats will provide an Octoberfest style mini-festival with upstate musicians.

The Octoberfest style Scots and Brats runs from 3 to 9 p.m.

“It will again be on Gary Street near The Lumberyard,” Spry said, “and bands will include The Foothills Oompa Band, Dixie Barns and Grainger Smith and lastly, playing until 9 p.m, Rhythm Jabs which is out of Greenville.”
