Laurens hit-and-run victim identified by Coroner

The victim of a fatal hit-and-run incident in Laurens late Saturday night has been identified by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.

Coroner Patti Canupp identified the victim as James Brendan O’Shields, 50, of Laurens.

He was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, she said.

The incident is still under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Laurens Police Department.

“This is a sad case for the family to see and learn about on Facebook Live,” Canupp said.

Autopsy results from Greenville County are pending, she said.
