ST. LOUIS, MO—April 23, 2025– Save A Lot, one of the largest discount grocery chains in the U.S., today announced the presentation of the Save A Lot Retail Partner of the Year Award for owners of 5-10 stores to Dwayne Goodwin who owns five stores across South Carolina.
The award, presented during the Company’s annual meeting and food show for store owners and operators in St. Charles, Mo., is given to Retail Partners who demonstrate outstanding results across the business, including growth in sales and customer metrics, community involvement, team engagement and a commitment to the Save A Lot brand image.
Among some of the secrets of Goodwin’s success includes a dedication to investing in communities, developing people, and getting the assortment right in each of his five South Carolina stores in West Union, Laurens, Pickens, Union and Anderson. Goodwin and his team ensure each store has the right products tailored specifically for those customers.
Goodwin’s creativity and ingenuity was another reason he was recognized because he merged a family history of farming knowledge with a new hobby of raising Hereford cattle to bring the freshest beef to his store customers. Prioritizing his employees offers the greatest returns. He takes pride in the fact that many of his staff not only live and work in the communities where his stores are located but have also been with him since the very beginning.
“I am honored to receive this recognition. My team and I pride ourselves in giving our best to our customers every day, “said Dwayne Goodwin, Save A Lot Retail Partner. “We’re proud to support local South Carolina communities and businesses by bringing in Hereford beef and employing people from the neighborhoods where our stores operate.”
“Dwayne Goodwin really sets the bar high when it comes to operating his Save A Lot stores,” said Fred Boehler, CEO of Save A Lot. “His team’s commitment to delivering fresh, full, friendly and clean stores serves as a model of what excellence in operations looks like. We’re proud they’re part of the Save A Lot network.”
