Lee Edward Brouillette, Korean War Vet

Lee Edward Brouillette, a proud Korean War veteran, passed away peacefully at his home in Laurens on April 6, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. He was 93 years old.
Born on August 16, 1931, in Marksville, Louisiana, Lee answered the call of duty in 1949 by enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps. Rising to the rank of sergeant, he served bravely in the Korean War and earned a distinguished place among the Chosin Few for his valor at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir.
Lee leaves behind his beloved wife of 72 years, Barbara H. Brouillette, who remained by his side until his final moments. A passionate advocate for veterans, Lee shared his experiences with countless organizations, schools, and civic groups. Most recently he spoke at the Battle of Chosin Reservoir – Korean War Symposium aboard the USS Yorktown in Patriots Point. He was a former member of Laurens Rotary Club, Laurens VFW, American Legion Post 25 and a 2008 inductee of the Laurens County VA Military Hall of Heroes.
In 1959, Lee founded L&L Office Supply, Inc., creating the first office supply store in Laurens County and expanded to a Clinton location in 1983. Today, after 66 years, his sons run the business, which continues to support the local community and residents of Laurens County.
Lee is survived by his three sons and their wives: Eddie and Teresa, Joe and Brenda, and Steve and Angela, all of Laurens; four grandchildren, Melissa (Seth) Crow, Alan (Sheri) Brouillette, Ashley (Michael) Buhrmaster, Ryan (Marimar) Brouillette; six great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Ben Rumph. Burial will follow in Westview Memorial Park with Military Honors. The family will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary one hour prior to the service.
