Debra Barnette “Debbie” Arnold, 60, of 1212 Chestnut St. Extension, passed away Monday, January 14, 2019, at Greenville Memorial Hospital System.
Born in Laurens, she was the daughter of the late Paul E. and Lois Pennington Barnette. She later married her husband of 37 years, the late Cecil Howard Arnold, Jr., who passed away in July of 2018. She is now enjoying being reunited with the love of her life. Debbie was of the Christian faith and a member of Hickory Tavern Church of God. Her life was devoted to serving others, whether through her creative ability or public service. She loved decorating and entertaining both at home and at work. She began her career of public service at the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office and later worked at the Department of Social Services. Ultimately, she retired from the Department of Probation, Parole, and Pardon as an Offender Supervision Specialist. Most of all she dearly loved her family, friends, church, and pet, Ginger.
Surviving are her children, Nikki Stewart (Barrett) and Corey Arnold (Jessica); step-son, Chris Arnold (Kelly); grandchildren, Rett and Eli Stewart and Ava, Liam, and Madi Arnold; sister, Janice Davis (Wayne); nieces, Leanne Reynolds (Jason), Stephanie Luben (Ward), and Karen Isaacs (Rick); nephews, Ben Davis, Daniel Davis, and Jeremy Arnold (Fernanda).
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Chad Jordan and Rev. Alex Henderson.
The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church on Thursday from 3:30 to 5:00 pm prior to the service.
