Joan Covington Williams

Joan Covington Williams, 81, of Pamplico, passed away on Thursday, November 22, 2018.

Mrs. Williams was born in Laurens County, S.C., a daughter of the late Robert Covington and Ida Darnell Covington. She graduated from Laurens High School where she starred in basketball and retired from the Town of Pamplico. She was a long time member of Pamplico United Methodist Church, had been attending Beulah Baptist Church, and was Past Grand Matron of the Pamplico Eastern Star #170.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, David Williams.

Surviving are her husband, Merle Kenneth Williams of Pamplico; son, Paul (Faye) Williams; daughter, Kendra Williams; grandchildren, Christian (Chloe) Williams and Matthew Franz Williams; sister, Andrea (Clark) Whitney.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at Stoudenmire-Dowling Funeral Home, Florence, SC.

A family visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, 2018 at Gray Funeral Home in Laurens with a graveside service to be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
