Lois Jean Jones Williams

Lois Jean Jones Williams, 87, a resident of Clinton, S.C., passed away on April 27, 2018 at Presbyterian Community of South Carolina.

She was born on November 2, 1930, in Sylacauga, Ala., as the daughter of Lula Bell and William Lewis Jones.

She graduated in 1950 from Massey Draughn Business College in Montgomery, Ala. She and Claris Wallace Williams were married from 1950-2010, and they had five daughters. Lois enjoyed raising her girls and being a community mom by creating a welcoming environment for many children in the neighborhood to come and play at the Williams home. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, taught her daughters homemaking skills, and chauffeured them to music lessons for many years. Lois went to work for the Mental Health Department of Alabama as a secretary until 1989. Upon retirement, she was a volunteer at Baptist South Hospital, Montgomery. She also taught Sunday School, played hand bells, and sang in the choir at Ridgecrest Baptist Church for 40 years. Her love of classical music and hymns showed when she loved to listen to her daughters sing and play their string instruments.

A Memorial Service will be held at Presbyterian Community in Clinton, S.C., on Saturday, May 19, at 10:30 a.m.
