Clinton man dies following holiday ATV accident

A Clinton man who succumbed to injuries he suffered in a July 4 ATV accident was laid to rest Saturday.

Wesley “Stuart” Gillian, 49, died on July 6 after being transported to PrismaHealth Greenville Memorial Hospital.

According to the Laurens County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred on Lake Road in Clinton around 8:30 p.m. on July 4. The incident is under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the coroner’s office.

According to his obituary from Gray Funeral Home, Gillian was happiest when he was “hunting and fishing, riding his 4-wheeler, barbecuing or cooking out.”
