William Dean Tumblin
Hickory Tavern, South Carolina
William Dean Tumblin, 71, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and the grace of the God he faithfully trusted throughout his life.
Born on October 15, 1954, Dean was the son of the late William Clifton Tumblin and Corine Owens Tumblin Capps. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and faithful friend whose kindness and steady presence touched many lives.
For 53 wonderful years, Dean shared a beautiful marriage with his beloved wife, Nancy Smith Tumblin. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. Dean was a dedicated father to his son and daughter-in-law, Van and Keri Tumblin, and his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Brady Norris.
Nothing brought Dean more joy than his grandchildren, Rose and Van Culbertson, Chandler Tumblin, Weston and Colt Norris. They were truly the light of his life, and he treasured every moment spent with them. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or simply being together, Dean’s love for his family was evident in all he did.
Dean will be remembered for his warm heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for those around him. His faith in the Lord guided his life and gave him strength through every season. Though his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in knowing he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior.
His memory will be cherished always by all who knew and loved him.
The family requests the presence of all of Dean’s family and friends for a reception and a time of fellowship at their home on Friday, May 15 from 3:00 – 6:00 PM.
There will be a private family burial at Rabun Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
