Sybil Spearman Jeffords
Laurens, South Carolina
Sybil Spearman Jeffords, 90, of Laurens, and wife of the late Rev. William Herbert “Jeff” Jeffords, Jr., passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, at Quillen Manor in Fountain Inn, SC.
Sybil was born in Laurens on May 15, 1935, to the late Clyde E. and Letha Bolt Spearman. She was a devoted Christian who, above everything else in this life, loved her Lord, children, and family. Sybil was a member of First Baptist Laurens and was known by all as being a wonderful friend and prayer warrior. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking for her family as well as sewing, crafting, and working outside in her flower garden. Everyone who knew Sybil would readily describe her as having an “I can do it” attitude with a feisty side.
She is survived by three children: Vickie Jeffords Monteith (Phillip), Jan Jeffords Blair, and Mark William Jeffords (Alisa); nine grandchildren, Jason Monteith, Todd Monteith (Meredith), Shannon Anthony (Chad), Rendi Vickers (Ryan), Casey Galloway (Armando), Brad Galloway (Allison), Lauren Atkins (Joel), Ashley Jeffords, and Hannah Jeffords; 16 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild on the way; and her beloved dog “Bella.”
In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Jack Wilburn Spearman, Katherine Spearman Brownlee, and Marcelle Spearman “Tiny” Kuykendall.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Tim Marsh, Rev. Dr. Bev T. Kennedy, Jr., and Jason Monteith.
The family will receive friends at cemetery immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurens County Humane Society, 793 Poplar Street, Clinton, SC, 29325.
