Saturday hit-and-run fatality under active investigation in Laurens
Laurens, South Carolina – The Laurens Police Department is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident that occurred late Saturday night, June 7, on Fleming Street near the areas of Garlington and Deer streets and Conway Avenue.
Police were notified of the incident at approximately 11:13 Saturday night. Officers responded to the scene following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by two vehicles. The victim was transported to a hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
At this time, the identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The department is working closely with the Laurens County Coroner’s Office and will release additional details once the victim’s family has been notified.
This remains an active and ongoing investigation. No further information about the vehicles involved or the circumstances of the collision will be released at this time.
Investigators are also reviewing a Facebook Live video recorded shortly after the incident.
