SCDOT to hold May 27 drop-in public information meeting concerning Enoree River bridge

Enoree, South Carolina – SCDOT will hold a drop-in public information meeting regarding the bridge on S-112 (Beaverdam Church Road)/S-116 (Kilgore Bridge Road) over Enoree River at the border of Laurens and Spartanburg counties.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at Beaverdam Baptist Church, 1252 Beaverdam Church Rd., Enoree, SC 29335. This meeting will replace the previously scheduled meeting about this bridge originally advertised for May 6 at Woodruff Leisure Center. SCDOT has rescheduled the meeting to offer community members additional time to provide comments.

The bridge was scheduled to undergo repairs when it was struck by Hurricane Helene in fall 2024. The storm left the bridge damaged beyond repair and structurally unstable. SCDOT has demolished the bridge for the safety of the traveling public.

This meeting will provide members of the community with an opportunity to receive information and provide comment on the options for the future of the bridge, which could include a replacement project or a permanent closure and removal from the state system.

SCDOT representatives will be available at the meeting with community members to receive comments and answer questions about all of the potential options. There will be no formal presentation.

SCDOT will accept public comments on this proposed project until May 30, 2025.Visit the project website at https://scdotgis.online/S112andS116Bridge.
