Lee Robert “Bob” Dominick

Lee Robert “Bob Dominick, 93, of Laurens, and husband of Charlotte Pearson Dominick, passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at National Healthcare Laurens.
Born on April 1, 1931, in Greenwood, Bob was the son of the late Dr. Lee Royster and Mary Lyon Dominick. He was the owner of Laurens Furniture, was on Laurens City Council for 8 years, and then served as the mayor of Laurens for 16 years. While mayor, he was instrumental in the beginnings of the Garbage Roll Out System, the Little River Project, and the formation of the Hunter Industrial Park. Bob served in a division of the Army and CIA and was stationed in Korea. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church where he served as a layman and a Sunday School teacher.
Bob was an avid Boy Scout and served as the Scout Master for Troop 78, where he earned the Silver Beaver Award. Through the years, he served on numerous councils and boards including: the YMCA Board, where he served as President; the Laurens Rotary Club, where he was also President; and was a board member of The Palmetto Bank, Upper Savannah, Little Theater, and the Laurens County Arts Council. At his passing, he was currently serving on the Old Ninety-Six Tourism Board.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by children: Pam Bennett (Mike) of Waterloo, Robbie Dominick (Lisa) of Laurens, Jamie Dominick (Linda) of Laurens, and Mary Ellen Champaign (Chris) of Laurens; grandchildren: Davy Hartsell (Kathy) of Spartanburg, Syrissa Roberts of Simpsonville, Eric Dominick (Rachel) of Liberty, Andrew Dominick (Sarah) of Easley, Amanda Dominick of Greenville, Alex Dominick (Haven) of Laurens, Allie Champaign of Laurens, and Mason Champaign of Laurens; great-grandchildren: Makayla Hartsell and Dillon Roberts; and a sister, Patricia Martin of Hoschton, GA.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Marian Dominick.
A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 2:00 pm, at St. James Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. Clyde Scott and Rev. Bob Allen, with burial to follow at Laurens City Cemetery with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends at Kennedy Mortuary on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
