Grover Hampton Tumblin, Jr.

It is with deep sorrow that Sandra Pinson Tumblin announces the passing of her husband of 54 years, Grover Hampton Tumblin, Jr., 77 of Laurens, who entered into rest at his home on January 21, 2025.
Born in Hickory Tavern on September 26, 1947, to the late Grover Hampton Tumblin, Sr. and Necy Brown Tumblin, Grover retired from Timken formerly Torrington. He was also a volunteer fireman for 34 years and one of the founding members of Ekom Fire Department. Grover was a Mason and member of Palmetto Lodge #19 and Henderson Baptist Church. He loved farming and spending time outdoors, especially with his beloved dog of 14 years, “Chubbie.”
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Scarlet Sneed (Jerry) and Jenny Fuller (Scott); grandchildren, Leanne Pelfrey (Justin), Ray Sneed (Brittney), Ryan Sneed (Kelsey), Chris Hudson, Noah Fuller, and Jared Fuller; great-grandchildren, Eastyn Pelfrey, Addy Fuller, Brantley Sneed, and one on the way.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Hannah Denise Fuller; a brother, Earl Tumblin; a sister Judy Stevenson; and an infant baby sister.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Henderson Baptist Church conducted by Rev. James K. Hamilton with burial to follow at New Prospect Baptist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Phil Hall with Firemen Rites. The family will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 23, 2025.
The family will be at the home.
