Healthy and Safe Aging for Senior Adults Focus of March 21 Community Event in Clinton

Residents of Laurens County and the surrounding area are invited to attend an event focusing on healthy and safe aging. The program will take place at Springdale United Methodist Church in Clinton on Saturday, March 21, at 10:00 am.

“Stronger for Longer” is intended for individuals age 65 or older, as well as their family members and caregivers. The presentation will also be beneficial to community health care workers, as well as anyone with an interest in learning about safe and empowered aging.

“Stronger for Longer” will be presented by Grace Durham, a student in the Occupational Therapy Program at Presbyterian College. It will be a practical, hands-on session that will empower older adults to stay safe, independent, and confident remaining in their own homes. The topics covered will include early detection, wellness habits, fall-prevention strategies, navigating electronic medical records systems such as MyChart, and more.

Springdale United Methodist Church is located at 851 Springdale Drive, Clinton. Coffee, beverages, and light refreshments will be available starting at 9:30 am as well as after the program. Grace will also be available to answer individual questions afterwards.

No registration is necessary. For more information about the content of the presentation, please contact Dr. Courtney Addison (Grace Durham’s faculty supervisor in the Occupational Therapy Program) at [email protected]. For questions about Springdale, call 864-684-3827 or email [email protected].
