Delgado resigns from Laurens administrator post
Laurens, South Carolina – Laurens City

Former Laurens City Administrator Eric Delgado.
Administrator Eric Delgado has resigned after four years on the job.
Mayor Nathan Senn confirmed Delgado’s resignation Thursday afternoon, but also said the he could not elaborate because it is a personnel matter.
“(Delgado) has resigned and we have accepted his resignation,” Senn said in a telephone conversation Thursday. “City operations are being managed smoothly by our dedicated and hard-working team. We will begin the process of locating another administrator in the near future, and we wish him the best.”
On Tuesday, Dec. 9, Laurens City Council met for an extended executive session, “to receive legal advice related to administrative matters and to discuss a personnel matter involving a City Administrative office.”
“As a city, we want to be as transparent as possible but this was a personnel matter, and we don’t comment on personnel matters,” Senn said.
Senn said Delgado turned in his resignation in November.
Delgado, who was hired in December of 2021 to succeed retiring long-time administrator Gary Coleman, said via text that he was honored to have served the City of Laurens the past four years and happy for the improvements the city made during that time.
“During that time, we turned the fountains back on, built a downtown plaza, restructured waste removal from the ground up, renovated the police department, resolved longstanding issues with LOST (Local Option Sales Tax revenue sharing), and modernized an aging municipal fleet. More importantly, as Mayor Senn himself noted in his 2023 State of the City address, I am proud that we raised employee salaries to better recruit talent,” Delgado said. “After many years of public service, this old combat veteran is tired and is looking forward to spending more time with his son. I wish the City of Laurens continued success, and I extend my best wishes and a Merry Christmas to all.”
