Playoff schedule this week set for local teams
Clinton pitcher Jaydon Glenn and the Red Devils begin the playoffs at home Tuesday against Saluda.
Laurens baseball will begin the Class 4A playoffs at home Monday as the No. 5 overall seed in the Upstate.
The Raiders (16-9), who finished second in Region 1-4A, will host No. 12 Travelers Rest (11-15) at 6:30 p.m. LDHS is to play again Tuesday in the double-elimination tournament.
Meanwhile, Clinton is to host Saluda (11-10) at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
The Red Devils (16-6) played a home-and-home set against Saluda at the tail end of the regular season, defeating the Tigers 14-3 on April 28 and 3-1 this past Thursday.
Here are other playoff dates for local schools:
• LDHS tennis is set to host Daniel at 4:30 p.m. Monday in the third round of the Class 4A state tournament.
• Clinton boys soccer is seeded 13th and will travel to No. 4 Brashier Middle College Monday for the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
• The Region 1-4A golf tournament is set to begin at noon Monday at Carolina Springs Country Club.
• The Clinton boys tennis team travels to Chapman at 5:30 p.m. Monday for the third round of the Class 3A/2A/1A playoffs.
• No. 12-seeded Clinton girls soccer will travel to No. 5 Landrum Tuesday to begin the Class 2A playoffs at 6:30 p.m.
Laurens boys tennis player J.P. Field and the Raiders continue a historic playoff run Monday.
• LDHS softball is to travel to York for their opening-round game in the Class 4A playoffs. First pitch is set for 6 p.m.
• Thornwell baseball will travel to top-seeded Lewisville Tuesday for the first round of the Class 1A playoffs, competing in the District 3 bracket.
• LDHS boys soccer will play at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs.
• Clinton softball will play at Ninety Six at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the opening round of the Class 2A playoffs.
• Thornwell softball will open the playoffs Wednesday at Lamar.
• On Thursday, Clinton will travel to Pelion for the Class 2A state qualifier beginning at 10 a.m.
• On Saturday, Laurens track will compete at the Class 4A district qualifier at Camden.
