3 county victims of storm identified

The Laurens County Coroner’s Office has identified three county residents killed this past week as Hurricane Helene roared through the Upstate of South Carolina.

In Clinton, two men were killed when a tree fell on the vehicle they were traveling in Thursday night.

Chief Deputy Coroner Patti Canupp identified the victims as Richard Dylan Rathbone, 31, and Thomas Carson Lawson, 41. Both men lived in Clinton.

A Cross Hill man also died when a tree fell onto his camper. The victim was identified as Carl Thomas Bailey, 59.

    I deepest condolences and prayers go out to all of the families in their time of bereavement, May God give them comfort and strength at this time. Let’s keep all of Laurens county and surrounding areas in our prayers. Not just during disasters but everyday.

    Thomas was my cousin. he was killed at my bus stop
