District 55 hosting meet-and-greets for finalists

The Laurens County School District Board of Trustees has announced three special called meetings in the coming weeks to coincide with community meet-and-greets with finalists for the district’s open superintendent position.

All three meetings and meet-and-greets will be held at the District 55 offices at 301 Hillcrest Drive in Laurens.

Here is the schedule for the three finalists:

May 14: Jody Penland, Laurens District 55, 6:30 p.m.

May 15: Martin Wright, Liberty County (Ga.) Schools, 6:30 p.m.

May 20: Chris Ballenger, Warren County (Va.) Public Schools, 5:30 p.m. (preceding regular meeting at 6:30 p.m.)

The board plans to announce its decision on the hire following a called meeting on May 28 at 5 p.m.
