‘Uncovered’ efforts featured on CBS Sunday Morning
The Charleston Post and Courier’s “Uncovered” investigative journalism project was featured Sunday on CBS Sunday Morning.
Veteran journalist Ted Koppel visited Charleston in addition to Blythewood and Chester, South Carolina for the story, which also featured a graphic of the mastheads of all 19 papers that are part of the project, including The Laurens County Advertiser.
The segment focused on the Post and Courier’s push to combine resources with smaller papers in the state for investigative stories in their areas and how the Charleston paper is finding new ways to fund and report its news-gathering efforts across the state.
The story noted that 10 small newspapers across South Carolina, including the Ware Shoals Observer, have either ended their print editions or shuttered completely since 2020.
