Special election Tuesday to fill Gray Court seat

A special election to fill an unexpired term on the Gray Court Town Council is set for Tuesday (Oct. 18).

Three candidates, including one former councilwoman, are vying to fill the unexpired term of Geneik Brewster. Brewster, who was elected in June of 2021, resigned earlier this year due to relocating out of the Gray Court town limits.

Laura B. Cook, Nadine Phillip and former councilwoman Malea Merck are candidates for the at-large seat on council.

Voting for the non-partisan special election will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday at Town Hall and is open to registered voters within the town limits.
