CrossFit 864 plans live music, gathering tonight

Clinton, SC – CrossFit 864 will be extending the holiday vibe in Clinton this week when it holds a street party behind its fitness center at 207 Pitt Street tonight,  Thursday, July 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.

“We’ve started doing this every couple of months and it’s a way to have some fun on nights when the city isn’t planning anything,” said CrossFit 864 owner Janice Long. “We’ll also have corn hole games going and it’s open to the community.”

This week’s gathering is pared down from some of their previous activities.

“During cooler weather we also invite vendors to come out, and we’ll get back to doing that in the fall,” Long said. “This week we know a lot of people are on vacation, but we will still have food and we’ll have music by Chuck Jennings. He’s from Clinton and is the lead guitarist from the 360 Band.”

CrossFit 864 is located on Pitt Street, but the event will be held at its back parking area on West Main Street, near Wilson’s Curb Market.

Wish CrossFit would at least install showers. 24/7 electronic access would be great too for those of us on different work schedules.
The Clinton YMCA been forced to close an hour earlier in Clinton and isn’t open on Sundays anymore. Going to the Laurens Y costs time and $$$. Plus, alot of adults don’t care for unruly children and teens, roaming around unsupervised.
Working and retired adults need a clean, well-equipped 24/7 workout facility. If CrossFit doesn’t want to do it, then maybe, the City needs to work double-overtime to get an Anytime Fitness to open here.
