All county offices closed on state orders
All Laurens County offices are being closed to the public, according to a statement released by county officials late Tuesday.
The closures come on the heels of an executive order by Gov. Henry McMaster prohibiting gatherings of 50 or more people.
A called meeting of county council to discuss the county’s response to COVID-19 was canceled at one time, but is now back on the schedule. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at the Historic County Courthouse. It is closed to the public but will be streamed live on the county’s website.
Also,
• Public Access to the offices at Hillcrest Square has been shut down. Doors will be locked, and all business with the Laurens County treasurer, auditor or assessor can only be conducted at the drive-thru window.
• The Registrations and Elections Office at the Historic Courthouse will remain open for filing for an elected office only.
• The Laurens County Library and the Clinton branch are closed.
