LCSO investigating double homicide in Laurens

A double homicide that occurred Saturday night in Laurens is still under investigation by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

Two men were shot and killed during a block party on the 200 block of Winette Street in Laurens. The victims were identified as Roydrecilous Irby, 26, and Sidney Speaks, 43.

Irby and Speaks were transported to the Laurens County Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

According to reports, some 300 people were at the block party when the incident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday.
