Charles William Hawkins

Charles William Hawkins, 95, of Gray Court, and loving husband of Gloria McKinney Hawkins, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Born on July 13, 1930, in Simpsonville, SC, he was the son of the late Manley Elford and Kate Hurley Hawkins. A US Army veteran, Charles was stationed in Okinawa during the Korean War. He retired from Staubli Corporation in Duncan, SC, and was an avid researcher for the Laurens Genealogical Society. A committed follower of Christ, Charles was a longstanding member of Warrior Creek Baptist Church where he served a men’s Sunday School class teacher for fifty years, a deacon, and choir director.
In addition to his wife of 71 years, he is survived by sons, Keith Hawkins (Michelle), Ronald Hawkins, Tim Hawkins (Cindy), and Chris Hawkins (Susan); grandchildren, Zachary Hawkins, Nicholas Hawkins (Grace), Nathan Hawkins, Rachel Hawkins Drummond (Lamar), Benjamin Hawkins, Cameron Hawkins (Emily), and Carson Hawkins; great grandchildren, Rowan Hawkins, Raegan Hawkins, Olivia Hawkins, Addie Hawkins, Lillian Drummond, Zacara Drummond, Norah Hawkins; and a sister, Maxie Green. He was also predeceased by a sister, Cassie Hawkins Poole.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Warrior Creek Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Bobby Howell, and followed by private burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
