Jason Aristide

Two arrests were made this past week by the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office following a rash of automotive break-ins and larceny in Clinton.

Jaron Aristide of Greenwood was taken into custody on Tuesday, Sept. 10, and Brandon Zy’Keviz Robinson of Woodruff was arrested Thursday (Sept. 12). Both face 40 charges each, including multiple counts of breaking into motor vehicles and larceny as well as criminal conspiracy, malicious injury to property, financial transaction card theft and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

A juvenile has also been charged in the investigation and that case will be adjudicated through the S.C. Department of Juvenile Justice.

Aristide and Robinson are being held in the Laurens County Detention Center with bonds totaling over $170,000 each.

“Thank you to the investigators who worked diligently on these car break-ins,” said Laurens County Sheriff Don Reynolds. “While residents should not have to worry about their personal property being stolen, I would like to remind everyone to keep your vehicles locked and always remove your valuables.”

More charges are possible, the LCSO said.

On Aug. 28, the LCSO asked on its social media pages for information on break-ins in the areas of Lakewood Drive, Woodberry Drive and Sunset Boulevard in Clinton.
