Mrs. Hughes was born on March 27, 1949, in Laurens County, Laurens, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Culberson Owens and Jasper W. Owens.

She was survived by her husband, Davis Hughes of Laurens; son, Tony (Leslie) Pennington of Dublin, Ga.; grandson, Payton Pennington of Dublin, Ga.; brother, Ronnie (Sandi) Owens of Honea Path, SC; sister, Diane Owens(Walter Sumner) of Bluffton, SC.; several nieces and nephew; mother in law, Lois Hughes of Laurens, SC; step son, Chris (Amy) Hughes; grandsons, Clay and Ryder Hughes ; granddaughters, Haley and Khloe Hughes. Special friend, Gary Church of Fountain Inn.
