A pedestrian was struck and killed just after midnight Friday morning on I-385.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the victim was walking on the interstate when struck by a 2009 Nissan Versa traveling south near mile marker 5.
The victim, whose identity has not been released by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office, died at the scene, said Master Trooper David Jones. There were no other injuries reported.
The traffic fatality was the sixth in Laurens County in less than three weeks.
The victim of a July 4 accident on Highway 221 in Waterloo succumbed to his injuries Monday and was identified late Tuesday as James Maye, 90, of Laurens.
