Vandra “Vandy” Gatewood Edmonds

Vandra “Vandy” Gatewood Edmonds, 60, of St. Albans, West Virginia, wife of Larry Edmonds Jr., entered eternal rest on June 18, 2022.

She was the daughter of Sandra Gatewood of Williamstown, West Virginia, and the late Wayne Gatewood; and William Stepp (Jerry) of Covington, Kentucky.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Travis Brown; a daughter, Tara Edwards (T.C.); a brother, Rev. Dana Gatewood (Jennifer); two sisters, Jennifer Britton (Joey) and Anita Taylor (James); grandchildren, Alisha Brown, Nathan Brown, Carson Brown, Kaia Brown, Katie Edwards, Haylee Edwards, Kendra Means, and Christopher Means; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her dad, Wayne Gatewood, she was predeceased by a sister, Amy Gatewood.

Vandy always had to have a Coca-Cola in hand. She found her inner peace with her job in the Garden Center at Walmart and her huge love for animals.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to any organization that helps with animals.

Cooke Funeral Homes and Crematoriums is assisting the family.

We know that we can’t have you but we’re happy knowing that the angels have finally got you back. Goodbye to a wonderful woman and a beautiful mother.

Vandy was a great friend and like a sister to me most of our lives. She loved her family and friends and her animals and collection of Coca Cola and Marilyn Monroe memorabilia. She was a loyal and loving Daughter, Mother, Sister, Wife, and friend who will be missed by all who loved her. Fly high with the Angels Vandy, they have another good one there now.
