Dateline – Chester, South Carolina

Barbara Laughridge Walker, 79, died on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at The Chester Church of the Nazarene, Chester.

Mrs. Walker was a native of Augusta, Ga. and was a daughter of the late Lester Thomas Laughridge and Mary Nettie Ashley Laughridge. She grew up in Laurens and was a graduate of Laurens High School. She will be remembered as a woman who loved her children and her grandchildren. She enjoyed camping and Facebooking. She was a valued
member of The VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Post 9138 James A Culp, Fort Mill.

She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Ray Walker Sr.; two sons, Tommy Curry (Darlene) of Laurens and Billy Ray Walker Jr. (Lisa) of Chester; four daughters, Beth Morris (Rick) of Cross Hill, Sherrie Thompson (Tony) of Chester, Kristie Long (Jarrod) of Batesburg, and Kathy Walker of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Glynda Tucker of Gray Court and Connie Tricebock of Matthews, N.C.; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son, Dennis Walker; and two granddaughters, Ashley and Johnna Marlin.
