Dr. James “Jim” Edward Cliatt, III, 86, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022 in Rock Hill, SC.
Jim Cliatt was born in Salisbury, NC, and was the son of the late James “Jay” E Cliatt, Jr. and the late Ethel Greer Cliatt. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Laurens, SC and a Rotarian in Laurens County, SC. Dr. Cliatt earned his BA degree from the Citadel in 1957 and his Masters and Phd in 1963 from Mississippi State University. He enjoyed reading, hiking, traveling, and being in nature.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cliatt; two daughters, Jennifer Fleming of Rock Hill, SC, and Alison Schers of Atlanta, GA; his four sons, Kirk Clyatt of Las Vegas, NV, Christopher Sol of Winchester, VA, Todd Fleming of Rock Hill, SC, and Nathan Fleming of Rock Hill, SC; his step-daughter, Dee Rutkowski of Fairfax, VA; and his nine grandchildren
A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
