4 killed in Laurens County head-on crash

UPDATE: Victims of crash identified by Laurens County Coroner’s Office.

All four people involved in a head-on collision in northern Laurens County Tuesday morning were killed.

The victims died in the wreck on Highway 418 near Scuffletown Road in northern Laurens County near Fountain Inn.

Three of the victims of the crash died at the scene and the fourth died a short time after being airlifted to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The accident occurred about 9:45 a.m.

According to SCHP Trooper Brandon Bolt, the driver of a 2007 Lincoln Town Car was traveling west and crossed the center line on Highway 418 and collided head-on with a 2002 Honda Accord.

Evan McNeely, 18, a passenger in the Town Car from Greenville, died at the scene as did the driver and a passenger in the Honda.

The Honda’s driver, Karen Lockamy, 76, of Fountain Inn died at the scene. Crystal Swann, 79, also of Fountain Inn was a passenger in the Accord. She was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident as well.

Kevin Marin, 20, of Greer was the driver of the Town Car. He was flown by helicopter to Prisma Greenville Memorial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries several hours later, according to the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.

Autopsies are scheduled Wednesday to determine the exact causes of death for each of the victims.

The accident is still under investigation by the SCHP, said Bolt.
