Gloria Patton

Mrs. Gloria Faye Coleman Patton, 68, of Randall Street, Hartwell, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at her home.
Born on June 1, 1952 in Clinton, SC, she was the daughter of the late James Mason Coleman and Wilma Coker Coleman. Mrs. Patton graduated from Carson-Newman University with a Bachelors in Psychology, and she was retired from the Greenville County Department of Disabilities and Special Needs. She was a counselor/youth pastor at Lydia Baptist Church in Clinton, SC, Dumplin Baptist Church in Dumplin Valley, TN, First Baptist Church of Strawberry Plains, TN, Milltown Baptist Church, Trinity Outreach Center, Jeremiah’s Call of Good Shepherd Church, and Washington Avenue Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
She is survived by her husband: Rev. Steve A. Patton of Hartwell; two daughters: Stephanie Patton and Kelley Patton Higginbotham (Jonathan), both of Hartwell; one brother: James “Walt” Coleman (Mary) of Clinton, SC; one sister: Ann Edwards (Oscar) of Clinton, SC; and three grandchildren: Sophia Hernandez, Tyson Higginbotham, and Asher Higginbotham. Mrs. Patton is preceded in death by her parents and one brother and sister-in-law: Ransom & Penny Coleman.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Encounter Church. At other times the family will be at the home.
A Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 3:00 at the Encounter Church with Rev. Gary McCurley and Rev. Ryan Winne officiating. Encounter Church is located at 1318 Reed Creek Highway.
