Dorothy “Dottie” Byers Morgan

Dateline – Laurens, South Carolina

Dorothy “Dottie” Byers Morgan, 47, of Laurens, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, Nov. 2, 2020.

Born in Greenwood, Dottie was daughter of Bob and Chris Byers of Laurens. She was a graduate of Greenville Tech and was a certified esthetician. She was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church in Waterloo.

Dottie loved all things Gamecocks and was very interested in politics.

Dottie had three grandchildren who were her heart and soul, and cherished the time she spent with them.

In addition to her parents, Dottie is survived by her daughter, Lauren Cagle (Gary) of Clinton; a son, Dylan Davis (Kayla) of Laurens; three grandchildren, Gracelyn Cagle, Graydon Cagle, and Remy Kay Davis; two sisters, Lori Aultman (Lee) of Waterloo and Julie Alexander (Greg) of Gulf Shores, Ala.; three brothers, Dale Byers (Sally) of Laurens, Tim Byers (Sandy) of Joanna, and Bob Byers of Laurens. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dottie was predeceased by a nephew, Hunter Byers; paternal grandparents, Robert and Dorothy Byers; and maternal grandparents, Carl,  Elizabeth and Sarah McGee.

A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at Rosemont Baptist Church conducted by Dr. K.J. Shorter. The families will be at their respective homes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Laurens County.
