Lois Marie Brown West

Lois Marie Brown West, 97, of Laurens, and wife of the late Willie P. “Bill” West, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, at Hospice of Laurens County Hospice House.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Thursey Caroline Fischer Brown. Lois worked in textiles and retired from Clinton Mills, Bailey Plant. Following retirement, Lois worked in Childcare. She was the oldest living member of Todd Memorial Presbyterian Church. Mrs. West volunteered at Laurens County Hospital Auxiliary with over 12,000 hours and was a life member of VFW Auxiliary.

Surviving are her daughter: Nancy Harlan Knight of Laurens; brother, W.D. Brown and wife Betty of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Sharon Templeton Karkowski, James Templeton and wife Linda, David C. Templeton and wife Joni, Mark Templeton and wife Shan, Mike Harlan and wife Kim, James Harlan and wife Melony, Brian Harlan and wife Laralynn; son-in-law, David B. Templeton; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by: a daughter, Mildred Lee West Templeton; and ten siblings.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2019, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Richard Cain and Mr. Cameron Ashe with burial in Forest Lawn East Cemetery.

The family will be at the home of her daughter, 1234 Southview Drive, Laurens, and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary one hour prior to the service.
