PC women shut out in overtime loss to CSU

The Presbyterian College women’s basketball team struggled from the field for much of its game Saturday afternoon against Charleston Southern at the Templeton Center, but nearly pulled out what would’ve been a program-building victory over the Bucs.

Instead, PC walked away with a difficult loss as the Bucs got a free throw with 7.2 seconds left to force overtime, then shut out the Blue Hose 8-0 in the extra frame to pick up a 63-55 victory. The loss sent PC to 4-16 overall, 2-7 in the Big South.

Kacie Hall scored a team-best 17 points, but was 5-of-24 shooting in the game, while Salina Virola had her sixth double-double of the season (11 points, 12 rebounds).

PC was 0-for-5 shooting in the overtime and finished the game hitting just 29 percent of its attempts.

PC, which has lost five straight, visits Hampton Tuesday night.
