Lexington man killed in I-26 wreck
A Lexington man was killed early Saturday morning in a two-car accident on I-26 in Laurens County.
Patrick Nathaniel Davis, 36, succumbed to injuries at the scene of the accident at 1:55 a.m., according to the Laurens County Coroner’s Office. He died as a result of blunt-force trauma.
The accident occurred near mile marker 46, just outside of Clinton when the 1999 Toyota sedan driven by Davis collided with a pickup truck in the westbound lanes. Both vehicles ran off the highway, but Davis’ vehicle traveled down an embankment, flipped over and struck a tree.
South Carolina Highway Patrol Cpl. Justin Sutherland said Davis was seat-belted and entrapped in the vehicle. The two occupants of the pickup were uninjured. No charges have been filed in the incident.
