Joseph Pace Harris

Joseph Pace Harris, 94, formerly of McGowan St. and husband of the late Louise Patterson Harris, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018, at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community.

Born in Gray Court, S.C., he was a son of the late Barney Clarence “B.C.” and Bessie Lynch Harris. A U.S. Navy veteran, he was a W.W. II veteran and a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans and the American Legion. Mr. Harris was the former manager of the A&P grocery store in Laurens and the Winn Dixie grocery store in Fountain Inn. He retired from Torrington Inc. and was a member of Second Baptist Church.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, James B. Harris, John Henry Harris, Roy L. Harris, and C. Eugene Harris.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 10, 2018, at Forest Lawn Cemetery, conducted by Rev. J.D. Shiflet.

The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service.
