SCHSL extends football regular season due to Florence
For the third time in four years the South Carolina High School League has had to adjust its regular-season football schedule due to a hurricane.
The SCHSL announced Tuesday that an extra week of the regular season will be added on Nov. 2, making up for any and all games that were lost last week due to Hurricane Florence’s impacts on the state. As a result the 2018 playoffs will now begin on Nov. 9, and the state championship games will now be played one week later than originally planned. Those games will now be held Dec. 7-8.
The SCHSL also announced that all other fall sports will not have any changes to their schedule for the remainder of the season.
