Barbara Hughes Merck

Barbara Hughes Merck, age 78, of 1125 Two Notch Road and wife of the late Wallace O’Dell Merck, passed away on Friday, September 14, 2018, at her home.

Born in Laurens, S.C., she was a daughter of the late Eugene and Eliza Owens Hughes. Mrs. Merck was a homemaker.

Surviving are her children, Kenny Merck (Sandy) of Lexington and Angela Merck-Sanchez (Tony) of Daytona, Fla.; grandchildren, Brandon Boland (Lauren) of Lexington, Nikki Merck of Florence, Brady Merck (Brittany) of Lexington, and Austin Goff of Concord; and a special great-grandson and best friend, Bentley Boland.

The last surviving member of her immediate family, Mrs. Merck was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at her home, 1125 Two Notch Road, Lexington, SC on Monday, September 17, 2018, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and will also receive friends at the mortuary one hour prior to the service.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m.Tuesday, September 18, 2018, at The Kennedy Mortuary Chapel conducted by Rev. Michael Corley with burial following in Warrior Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
