Stacy Walter Rhodes

Stacy Walter Rhodes, age 68, of 5297 Hwy 72 West, and husband of Gayle Word Rhodes, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Pickens, S.C., he was a son of the late James Welborn and Annie Bell Brooks Rhodes. Stacy retired from Asten Johnson as project coordinator and was a member of Bellview Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James “Jamie” Rhodes of Charlotte, N.C., Angela Payne and husband Mark of Hickory Tavern, Peggy “Cissy” Jackson and husband Vince of Laurens, Lisa Lyons and husband Richard of Gray Court, and Karen Zeigler and husband Tony of Hickory Tavern; brothers, Marion Rhodes and wife Jeanette of Easley and Wayne Rhodes and wife Debbie of Belton; a sister, Hazel Thomas of Fountain Inn; grandchildren, Josh Payne, Dawn Corino, Caitlin Culbertson, Stefanie Payne, Thomas Payne, Ashley Przybylo, Tonya Lee, Anthony Lyons, Adam Lyons, Brandy Moore, and Charlee Culbertson; 19 great-grandchildren; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his first wife, Sara LeRoy Rhodes and a grandson, Michael Payne, II.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 9, 2018, at Bellview Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. Adam Powers and Rev. Ben Rumph with burial in Bellview Baptist Church Cemetery

The family will be at the residence and will receive friends at The Kennedy Mortuary on Saturday, September 8, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
