Historic Cross Hill’s ‘Comin’ Home’ festival this weekend

The 29th Annual “Comin’ Home to Cross Hill” Festival is set for this upcoming Labor Day Weekend, beginning Friday evening, Aug. 31, and continuing throughout the day on Saturday,  Sept. 1 in the historic town in the Southern part of Laurens County.

The Saturday morning parade begins at 10 a.m., and musical guests throughout the day include the 282nd United States Army Marching Band from Fort Jackson, the Laurens County Mass Choir and others.

The Friday evening show will start at 6 p.m., with Cross Hill and Battle Zone Wrestling tag team wrestling show behind the Cross Hill Town Hall. The event is free and families are invited.
The parade Saturday morning starts on Hwy 39 near the Cross Hill Post Office, travels up Main Street and ends at Puckett Ferry Road. Festival organizers have added a community yard sale immediately following the parade at 11 a.m. behind Town Hall.
The 11 a.m. hour is also when the special music begins in the park behind Cross Hill Town Hall, with the Fort Jackson band starting off the list. Musical guests will continue to take the stage from noon until 4 p.m., including performances by  Pat Patterson, the Gospel Eagles, Laurens County Mass Choir and an encore show from Battle Zone Wrestling.
Saturday afternoon also includes the Cross Hill Car Show, inflatables and train rides for children and  vendors and concessions are available all weekend.
