Clinton hosts ‘National Night Out’ tonight

In celebration of National Night Out, the City of Clinton is holding an event tonight, Tuesday evening, Aug. 1, designed to bring the community and emergency personnel out together for an evening of food and fun, according to special projects coordinator Mary-Wallace Riley.

The event will take place tonight from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Lydia Mill Park, on Peachtree and Pine streets, beyond Bell Street School, in Clinton.

Included at the event will be free hot dogs and drinks, games, music and inflatables, as well as representatives from many different agencies, including Laurens County Crime Stoppers, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office child ID station and safety and educational information.

The event is sponsored by the City of Clinton Department of Public Safety.
