Mill Street in Laurens temporarily closed Monday

Employees with Southern Tree Experts took down and mulched most of a huge leaning oak tree at the corner of Gordon and Mill streets in Laurens Monday. For the largest portions of the fallen trunk, though, Donnie Holtzclaw with the Laurens branch of the S.C. Department of Transportation had his crew load them into a truck to haul away. Holtzclaw expected that section of Mill Street to be closed all of Monday afternoon.
