Bette Delores Buckner Smith Hood

Bette Delores Buckner Smith Hood, age 90, of 1 Martha Franks Drive, Laurens, S.C., and widow of Farris Odell Smith and Rev. Charles E. Hood Jr., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 13, 2017. Born in Midland City, Ala., she was a daughter of the late Lyman Thomas and Varna Hamric Buckner. A dedicated homemaker for most of her life, she later was employed by Waccamaw Ford Tractor in Conway. She was a resident of Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16, at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Conway, S.C. A memorial service will be held at Martha Franks Rasor Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 19. The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends in the Cooper Dining Hall at Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Community on Monday immediately following the memorial service.
