Beautify Laurens County sets June 3 cleanup day

Volunteers came out in March and combed the roadways to spruce up the county in the first quarterly Beautify Laurens County Cleanup day, and on Saturday, June 3, residents can again have a go at cleaning up the areas right where they live.

“In March we had 81 volunteers and they collected 234 bags of trash,” said Dianne Wyatt with the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce, which organizes the event four times a year.

Teams or individuals can register the area they will be working in and drop by the Chamber’s office for free supplies, including gloves, large trash bags, safety vests and sometimes the trash sticks, all of which are donated through a grant by Palmetto Pride, the state’s anti-litter agency. The Chamber office is located at 291 Professional Park Rd., Clinton.
