Clinton tennis advances to finals

The Clinton Red Devils boys’ tennis team advanced to the SCHSL Class 3A Championship match with a 6-0 victory over West-Oak Wednesday afternoon at home.

Clinton (19-2) swept through all five singles matches without dropping a set, but had to rally back in the No. 2 doubles after losing the opening set to finish off the shutout. Ike Waldron (No. 3 singles) was the only player to make it through his singles match without dropping a game, while both Isaac MacMillan (No. 1) and Robert Powell (No. 2) dropped only one game.

Clinton will player either Hanahan or Bishop England in Saturday’s final, set for noon at the Cayce Tennis Center in Columbia.
