Man sought in Fountain Inn plant shooting

A Simpsonville man is still at large and considered armed and dangerous after an early morning shooting Friday at the YanFeng Manufacturing plant in Fountain Inn.

David Jerome Butler, 43, allegedly injured two people in the shooting just before 6 a.m. Friday. Butler, a 5-foot-9, 186-pounds black male, may be driving a 2009 blueish-green Ford Fusion with South Carolina plates, NKQ 993.

Two victims inside the plant were removed from the building and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office.

Members of the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, Clinton Public Safety and Greenville County SWAT teams searched for Butler in the plant but were unable to locate him.

Persons coming into contact with the suspect or who have information as to his whereabouts are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 68CRIME (683-7463), local authorities or the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office at 864-984-2525.
